Someone walked thru the doors yesterday and one of the first things they asked about the club was, “Why is it called UP Fitness?”.
We’ve been asked this question so many times, we figure it deserves a global answer.
Get UP, stay UP, never give UP…
The taglines and potential are unlimited with a word like UP!
But it wasn’t for the ease of marketing, or a positive club image, or to test our team’s intellectual ability to see how many creative ways you can use the word UP in relation to fitness!
It’s actually much simpler.
Because we want you to come in, spend time at the club, and leave feeling that way…UP.
Most of us have heard the sayings like ‘Life is too short’ and ‘You only live once,’ repeatedly over the course of our lives, but yet, do we really live by the words?
We’ve heard it time and time again, but is it truly our modus operandi?
We find that most, don’t act as if life were all that short on a day to day basis. If you’re one of the few that do, kudos to you! You’re UPbeat about life and we admire that.
But for the rest of us, and I think it’s safe to say we’re the majority, life is filled with day to day anxieties and worries that overshadow the mantras that would help us operate more effectively, efficiently and undeniably, make us much happier.
Maybe it’s your career that you wake up in the middle of the night thinking about, or your parents’ aging and their questionable health, or your partner’s happiness and your relationship security. Maybe it’s even more trivial and you worry about whether your kids will like the lasagna you made, or if your mother in law will like the birthday gift you got her. From the mud that the dog tracks in on your newly cleaned floors or the panic that you haven’t bought enough Christmas gifts for your teenager…
WHATEVER it is, most of us actually operate in a subconscious worried, anxious state.
Which is why, ‘UP’ Fitness isn’t just ‘a gym’. It’s why we use the hashtag, #notagym.
We’re a health and wellness club. And we don’t just mean physical wellness. We mean mental and emotional health and wellness. Taking care of your mind, body and soul so that you can live your best life.
UP is a state of mind and the power of positivity is a force that compounds day after day and can really change the game we call life. We want you to walk in and do whatever it is that will make you feel the best walking out. Whether that’s exercising on the elliptical by yourself, working UP in one of our group fitness classes with the motivation of a trainer, taking some time to sit in the eucalyptus steam rooms or even coming in to sit down and catch up on emails in front of the fireplace, we want you to leave feeling better than when you came in.
The club is called UP Fitness not for us, but for you.
You only live once after all, so why not live it feeling UP?
